Cardiac arrest, stroke and trauma are three frequent causes for emergency room visits. These life-threatening conditions require immediate care that our emergency room staff is well-equipped to provide. Immediate action and attention at Resolute Baptist Hospital works to save lives.

Stroke

We focus on treating strokes as quickly as possible in order to prevent brain damage and death. Quick medical care can save brain cells and increase chances of recovery. Knowing the signs and symptoms of stroke can help get care as soon as possible. Stroke symptoms include:

  • Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
  • Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
  • Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
  • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
  • Sudden, severe headache with no known cause

Heart Attack

When you come to the Resolute Baptist Hospital emergency room suffering from a heart attack or myocardial infarction, you’ll undergo prompt testing to find if a blockage is present in your heart. Blockages are treated with medication or in the hospital’s cath lab.

Resolute Baptist Hospital is an accredited Chest Pain Center, recognized for providing expert chest pain care.

Trauma

As a designated Level IV Trauma Center, Resolute Baptist Hospital’s staff and physicians are ready to handle your injuries, either minor or severe. We have multiple dedicated trauma rooms with specialists to ensure you and your loved ones’ injuries are treated promptly and properly. For the most severe injuries requiring higher-level care, we work with our regional advisory council to provide prompt care and then transfer to a higher-level trauma center.
