Scheduling & Visitor Restrictions

We will be rescheduling some patient appointments and procedures in an effort to protect our patients and staff. Conserving personal protective equipment helps us prioritize the needs of those who may require immediate care. Adjustments to scheduled procedures and appointments will be made as requested by the physician, patient or as required by official local or national public health authorities. We will contact you directly if your appointment or procedure is postponed until a later date. During this time, all Resolute Health Hospital facilities will remain open to care for patients who require in-person visits and time-sensitive care. Thank you for understanding our need to take these measures for the safety of all.

Visitor Restrictions

Visitor Guidelines for COVID-19

Given the increase in COVID patients, we are reinstituting a restricted visitation policy at all Baptist Health System hospitals beginning Monday, January 11.

Exceptions include:

  • In the Emergency Department, pediatric and neonatal patients and patients with disabilities may have one support person.
  • Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Antepartum, Acute Rehab Unit, and HealthLink patients as well as patients at end of life and patients with disabilities may have one support person.
  • Visitors on Military Deployment are allowed.
  • Surgery/Procedure Patients requiring overnight care.

Designated visitor - those whose presence provide critical assistance and are essential to maintaining safety and who are a part of the patient’s care, well-being, and recovery process.

Pediatric & NICU Inpatients - Two ID banded parents can remain with the patient.

* No minors under the age of 16 will be allowed. Children of antepartum patients will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The designated Visitor is able to remain with patient during Visiting Hours except for patients in isolation for COVID-19. Each designated visitor will be given one Visitor Pass card, which must be presented along with proof of identification at the entrance screening station each day. They must display their Visitor Badge label so that it can be seen. They must wear a mask at all times and remain in the patient’s room.

Visiting Hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily, however pediatric and NICU parents can remain with their children at all times and a support person for patients in active labor. Designated Visitors of patients with disabilities can remain with the patient at all times. Patients in active labor may have a designated visitor remain with them.

All approved visitors upon entry to the hospital will be screened for temperature, respiratory symptoms, possible exposure and pending Coronavirus test results. Approved visitors will not be granted access for failed or refused screening.

Exceptions to the restricted visitation guidelines may be made on an individual basis by hospital executive leadership after careful evaluation of any clinical and/or ethical concerns.

The advent of COVID-19 vaccinations is a positive step in the pandemic fight. Here are some things to know about availability of the vaccine, and some do’s and don’ts to help you during the vaccine rollout.

DO

  • Do your research. Go online and check your primary care provider or local hospital’s website or social media for vaccine availability information.
  • Be patient. Know that vaccines are only available in limited quantities and that vaccinations for health care providers and first responders take precedence.
  • Check your eligibility. The Department of State Health Services website explains who is eligible to receive a vaccine and when.
  • Understand there is regional variability. Some regions may have vaccine available while others may not.

DON'T

  • Don’t just show up. Please do not arrive at your doctor’s office or hospital looking for the vaccine or information.
  • Don’t assume your local provider has vaccine available or that you can be vaccinated right away. COVID-19 Vaccination

We are in the process of vaccinating eligible members of our employees and medical staff in accordance with FDA and state health services guidelines. These guidelines designate the initial doses of the vaccine for healthcare providers, and we continue to make vaccinations available to all employees and providers who want one as vaccines are available. Additionally, we have been vaccinating our sister groups, facilities and community healthcare providers and staff within the Phase 1A First and Second Tier designation.

The state of Texas has asked that we offer vaccinations for those that are in Phase 1B. This group is aged 65 and older and/or has specific chronic conditions. Given the current limited supply of vaccine, at this time, we are not providing large-scale community vaccinations. However, we are actively planning to offer this service and when the supply of vaccine is available, an announcement will be made to those that are eligible with instructions on location and how to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine.

Restrictions for Hospital Entry/Exit

We are limiting entry points to facilitate visitor screening.

An exception to any limited visitation policy at the hospital is patients with disabilities who require support from family members or staff in order for them to effectively communicate with medical personnel or otherwise receive equal access to medical treatment.
