Resolute Baptist Hospital is one of only two Texas hospitals to receive national ‘Top General Hospital’ Award for safety

(New Braunfels, TX) – The New Braunfels community has one of the nation’s top hospitals when it comes to keeping patients safe. Resolute Baptist Hospital in New Braunfels announced that it is one of 149 hospitals nationwide to receive a “Top Hospital Award” and one of only two hospitals in Texas to receive the award in the Top General Hospital Award category from the Leapfrog Group, the nation’s most competitive recognition for excellence in hospital safety and quality.

Data from the annual Leapfrog Hospital Survey is used to identify the top hospitals and selection was based on excellence in upholding quality standards across several areas of patient care. This includes medication safety, surgery outcomes, and infection rates, among many other patient priorities.

The Top Hospitals are recognized in four categories: Top General Hospitals (46 recipients), Top Rural Hospitals (23 recipients), Top Teaching Hospitals (72 recipients), and Top Children’s Hospitals (8 recipients). Resolute Health Hospital was honored in the Top General Hospitals category.

The other Texas hospital earning a Top Hospital Award is North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, which is also part of the Baptist Health System.
